Garden Vendors
The 2010 Symposium will again be featuring a number of artisans and vendors whose work and products range from the conservation minded to the decorative. So make some time to browse the booths and talk with this group of very talented people. You just might find that special something for your home or garden!

| Creative Snail Mail - Handcrafted cards of all types by Irene Odum. Irene has always been interested in different forms of art and/or craft projects. She excelled in art at Brooklyn Cayce High School, winning awards and having her work displayed at the SC Art Museum. She's also had several winners at the SC State Fair. Her current passion is hand made cards, which has become a form of therapy after her work as a full time RN on the Oncology Unit at Baptist Hospital. "Receiving a personal note in the mail has become so rare in this day of email, texting and tweeting." Thus began Creative Snail Mail. |
| Craig Bell is a beekeeper located in Rembert, SC. Many symposium goers will remember him from the past. He has delicious honey and a good selection of beeswax candles. |

| Jimmie Dinkins is a self-taught artist who for the last 15 years has created Kudzu baskets and yard art made of iron. He works out of his home in Gadsden, South Carolina. |

| Helen Rivers and her husband, Cliff, collaborate to create whimsical garden art. Her ideas are turned into unique pieces by Cliff, a talented metal artisan. Every creation is made from recycled materials. Their business is truly a family affair with daughters, Vivian and Robin, involved as well as granddaughter, Brenna, who gave it its name. | Lisa Rivers of Leaves by Lisa & Southern Living at Home has been a garden enthusiast for over 25 years and is passionate about creating whimsical designs both in and outside the home. Her creative outlet for the past several years has been original garden designs, with leaves cast from concrete her material of choice for the past two years. Each of her casts is molded from an actual leaf, and range in size from a few inches to a few feet. The casts are handcrafted and every one is painted with a unique, original design. Lisa’s creations have also grown to include painted bamboo stakes. These provide a dramatic but subtle addition to your garden.In addition to her own creations, Lisa will be showcasing the spring catalog for Southern Living at Home. After retirirng from the SC Foundation Seed Program in September 2009, Mikd and his wife, Pattie, began their own web-based seed business, specializing in open-pollinated, heirloom, sunflower, organically grown vegetable seed, and sweet potato plants. | Ginny Sherman of Live Oaks Farm creates animal topiaries for the home and garden. These are lasting creations that require no maintenance and can be displayed anywhere. Her topiaries give a finishing touch to that special room or an area in the garden. |
| The Weavers' Nook by Mary Graham-Grant. Mary Graham-Grant uses the art of sweet grass basketry to make serving trays, clocks and even jewelrey. Sweetgrass basketry is an African art form that has been practiced continuously in South Carolina for over three hundred years. "Born and reared along the coast in Georgetown, South Carolina, sweetgrass Basketmaking began for me in 1990. It is important for people to know that the art of sweetgrass basketry is an art form that was brought to the Low Country by slaves who came from West Africa and the artform has been practiced continously in South Carolina for over three hundred years." Mary is a member of the South Carolina Arts Commission's Approved Artist Rooster and has conducted workshops for many organizations and residencies in several middle and high schools throughout South Carolina.
