| McKenzie Farms and Nursery McKenzie Farms Nursery was opened in the spring of 1999. Stan McKenzie, owner of the businesss started growing and propagating citrus trees that would thrive & survive in our zone 8 climate. Since that time, Stan has added many rare and unusual plants and trees that are often unique to our area. In addition to citrus, McKenzie Farms grows and sells several species of palms, eucalyptus, and flowering plants. Edible fruiting plants are also a specialty at the nursery with offerings such as olives, pomegranates, kiwis, bananas and the list goes on! Millcreek Greenhouses |
| Mill Creek Greenhouses was purchased by Lori Watson in the winter of 2005 and opened in March 2006. We carry a good selection of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, houseplants, soil amendments, fertilizers, concrete pots and statuary, terra cotta and glazed containers and garden art, some by local craft persons. We love to design and assemble pots and offer landscape design and installation with year round hours of operation.The focus here at Mill Creek is on individual customer service in a friendly down home atmosphere. We have rockers in the retail building for spouses whose interests lie elsewhere and are obliged to wait while their beloved indulges in our favorite past time. Please come by and visit with us soon. We are located about 2.4 miles from 77 down Leesburg Road on the right just before the white church with the natural spring fountain. You’ll always be greeted with a smile and a friendly hello at Mill Creek. In January and February we are open from 10 am to 5:30 pm. From March through December our hours are 9 am to 6 pm. Shady Characters |
| Shady Characters is a local nursery specializing in herbaceous perennials for the shady woodland garden. With an original emphasis on Hostas, the nursery has expanded to include other companion plants. Numerous species of Heucheras, Tiarellas, Ferns and Hardy Gingers are available along with many other plants that are unusual and hard to find. All of the plants are trialed in display beds at the nursery in order to determine their garden worthiness for our climate. The display beds also allow customers to see mature plants and how they can be incorporated into a southern landscape.Shady Characters is conveniently located between Columbia and Augusta off of Interstate 20 at exit 29. | |

| Specialty Ornamentals is a small woody plant nursery specializing in garden worthy plants that are sometimes hard to find. We propagate our own plants by seed, cuttings or grafting, so we can assure our customers that they are getting plants that are true to name and grown in the SE. We evaluate plants for years before we decide to include them in our inventory. We are always striving to grow plants that will have a special place and purpose in your garden. Some of the plants we specialize in are drought tolerant natives and exotics, and heat tolerant conifers and Japanese maples. We also grow a wide range of Hydrangeas and Viburnums. Whatever the plant, we intend to grow the best plants we can, and we can tell you why we think they are the best. | |
