The 2008 Symposium will again be featuring a number of artisans and vendors whose work and products range from the conservation-minded to the decorative.  So make some time to browse the booths and talk with this group of very talented people.  You just might find that special something for your home or garden!

Michael Bell’s work includes sculptures, wall hangings, fountains, arbors, and garden art.  All of his pieces are created out of copper, bronze, steel, and stone.  His work can be viewed at his website: http://www.copperartstudio.com.

Larry Cooke is a sustainable Low Impact Development consultant, planner, and project coordinator. He is a member of the United States Green Building Council and the Residential Green Building Committee. His passion for water conservation led him to the recognized common-sense practice of Rainwater Harvesting.  His display will feature a variety of rainwater barrels.

Jimmy Dinkins is a self-taught artist who has created Kudzu baskets and yard art made of iron for the last 15 years.  He works out of his home in Gadsden, South Carolina.

Mary Anne Ehasz of Mosaic Madness has participated in the SCMMGA Symposium for the last two years.  She is an established artist, whose work has been shown at local and state exhibitions beginning in the 1980’s.  Her initial work featured paintings with her current interest in mosaics beginning in 1992.  Her work was chosen for the State Fair Fine Arts Exhibit in 1994.  Her work is also available at the Gift Shop at the Columbia Museum of Art.

Mike Farrell specializes in key chains, plant hangers, plant stakes, garden benches, and wind chimes that feature the South Carolina or Palmetto motif.  His work has been featured in Southern Living.  His website lists the various retail establishments that carry his work:  http://www.bfkenterprises.com.

 Helen Rivers describes herself as the ‘treasures’ artist, who specializes in whimsy for the home and garden.   She finds inspiration from just about everywhere by recycling scrap metal, furniture, glass, and other decorative accessories for the home.  You can view her ‘treasures’ on her website at http://www.mrsartsyfartsy.com.

Ginny Sherman of Live Oaks Farm creates animal topiaries for the home and garden.  These are lasting creations that require no maintenance and can be displayed anywhere.  Her topiaries give a finishing touch to that special room or an area in the garden.

Betsy Winn creates handmade, high-fired stoneware, with no two pieces exactly alike.  She specializes in flower containers such wall vases/pockets and Ikebana vases.  She has experimented with combining stained glass and traditional glazes and letting them melt together.  Betsy has worked from her home studio in Watkinsville, Georgia, since retiring from the Air National Guard in 2001.

Carolina Eastern Warehouse is a fertilizer manufacturer which specializes in mushroom compost, which is available in bulk (your pickup) or bags.  A variety of pots are also for sale.
