KEEP THE MIDLANDS BEAUTIFUL: Established in 1989 to serve Richland and Lexington Counties, Keep the Midlands Beautiful provides sustainable solutions for individuals and groups to improve the physical and visual aspects of their community through beautification, waste reduction and recycling, and litter prevention. Our mission is to empower individuals to take greater responsibility for enhancing their community environment. Each year, thousands of Midlands residents volunteer to support this mission - with more than 200 groups regularly removing litter on area roads, communities and schools planting bushes and flowers to beautify their surroundings, and local businesses supporting recycling programs.
